Post baby - Celebrity moms shares about getting back into shape with exercises

Have you ever wondered why a celebrity mom who had recently given birth still look flawlessly gorgeous when
they appear on the fashion runway or at social appearances? They even look just as they did before they had a baby, donning those tiny bikinis at the beach.

How could they get in shape so fast when you are struggling with your weight because you can't seem to shed it?

Well, it may look easy, or these celebrity moms made it look easy. But the truth is, besides having a lot of help (nannies, nutritionists, personal trainers), they're not afraid to sweat!

Blake Lively

Take the beautiful Blake Lively, for example, she had to get in shape really fast after her first child was born because she had to film a movie eight months after giving birth. After her second child was born, she lost 61 pounds with the help of celebrity trainer Don Saladino. She joked about in an Instagram post:

"It takes more than scrolling through Instagram and wondering why you don't look like all the bikini models."

If you're struggling with your body weight and need some tips on how to shed it and stay in shape for the long run, keep reading because maybe some of these shares by celebrity moms could help you.

Do you want to get into those pre-pregnancy jeans? Well, the best way to get there is to get moving, and by moving I mean start exercising. Regular exercise is a must in this journey to shed that post-baby weight. Holly Robinson Peete is an actress and mother of 4, she is on her 50's and she looks great.

When asked about how she got in shape after her pregnancies, she said that exercise played a great part of it and that the key is commitment:

"Committing to it is the only way to lose weight."

Besides, it can give you a lot of energy, which you will definitely need when your baby starts crawling of walking.

So this is your first tip ladies, choose a work out routine (after checking with your doctor if it's OK to start working out) and commit to it.

Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway is one celebrity mom that didn't beat herself up about losing weight and getting back in shape after having her son. But she admits that it feels great to work out. She feels strong, and that's a great feeling that could definitely motivate you to keep going.

She goes to the gym to do her workouts. They're not the same workouts that she did, for example, when she was training to play Cat Woman,

"I find that my workouts are really different now because I gave birth".

Take that tip into consideration ladies, and tailor your workouts accordingly. And most importantly don't quit because just before you know it, your jeans will fit again. Just like they with Anne

"I had been trying to fit in my jeans and it just wasn't happening, then I stopped trying--  and the other day, they fit. I'm not gonna lie, that felt pretty good."

JLo and Kim Kardashian

Jennifer Lopez

Kim Kardashian

Celebrity moms like JLo or Kim Kardashian got back in shape by working with celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson. The first thing he has to say about getting in shape after having a baby is something very important,

"Immediately post-baby this is about a healthy baby, not your time to think about getting shredded - it's your time to think about stealing sleep any time you can."

Take notice ladies.

Gunnar also says you have to have the green light from your doctor to start working out and then you have to listen to your body. He tailors the work out for each of his clients, and that is important because all pregnancies are different and you need to take care with that. A workout that worked for a friend may not be the one you need.

"What kind of training we do depends on the kind of pregnancy and birth my clients have had. Were they on bed rest? Were there complications? The women I train may be famous but they are like any other new mum - a C-section recovery doesn't distinguish between one who has to be on a red carpet and one who does not." - Gunnar

An important tip when you start working out after having your baby is that you have to start over, you can't pick up where you left off. That means low intensity, not that much weight and less duration.

If you can't afford to hire a personal trainer here's kind of a guide given by Gunnar, that could help to get you started.

"Be smart and start slow. Start with a comprehensive strength routine, a cardio routine, and a stretching protocol. Begin with 3 days a week doing all three and then the 2 other days just do a steady-state cardio, which means take your heart rate to a certain level and keep it there."

Those are some great tips, right? Lastly, don't beat yourselves up if results don't come quick, just keep working out and most importantly don't compare yourselves with anyone else.

Halle Berry

Halle Berry

Another great exercise strategy to get back in shape after having a baby is to workout during the pregnancy (always consult your doctor on that).

Celebrity moms like Halle Berry workout up until she was 7 1/2 months pregnant. That helped her to get in shape faster because a few weeks after she gave birth she was ready to begin her post-baby workouts. She trained with Ramona Braganza.

Braganza helped Halle get in shape for the red carpet in a three month period by mixing calorie burning cardio (hiking, jogs on the beach, kickboxing), with free weights, planks, and other core exercises.

Celebrity moms getting back in shape with a nutritionist for pre-pregnancy body

Celebrity moms like Kim Kardashian relied on both exercise and a strict diet to lose the 60 pounds she gained with her second child. She had a magazine cover to be on so she needed to get in shape again.

So besides an intense work out routine with help of nutritionist Colette Heimowitz, she put herself on the Atkins 40 - a low -carb diet where you eat 40 grams of carbs a day.

"I love to work out and you definitely have to work out to tone up, but so much of it is how you eat. I had to really stay focus. I had to cut out all the sweets..."

She said she was very strict in following this diet. Maybe that's too much for you, but you can take some pointers and ask for some advice from your health provider.

Kim got an adequate balance of healthy food. Here's an example of what she ate to stay on the plan: lots of protein and healthy fats, along with a mix of high fiber carbohydrates. So, for example, a breakfast would consist of two eggs with cheese and spinach, then she had a snack of Greek yogurt with blueberries and slivered almonds. That sounds doable and yummy, right?

Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba is another celebrity mom that got help from a nutritionist to get back in shape after having babies. Ramona Braganza got Jessica to follow her 321 Baby Bulge Be Gone plan. In regards to healthy eating, the plan has 321 nutrition tips which consist of three meals, two snacks and at least one liter of water a day.

Braganza said Jessica drank about two litters a day. This helps keep milk supply during breastfeeding and you stay full between meals and snacks. Jessica's calorie intake was roughly 1,700 a day, she accomplished that by filling up on fiber-rich whole grains, salad, lean meats, and snacking on healthy protein (low string cheese for example). Do you think you can follow that? It sounds yummy too.

Jessica stuck to the eating plan and she had some advice for those of us who have a sweet tooth:

"If I need a sweet fix, I'll stick to natural sugar. Who can say no to fresh cherries or strawberries?"

Conclusion

When it comes to getting in shape after having a baby there are basically two ways: exercise and healthy eating. All the celebrity moms that we mention here did both and sooner or later they got the results.

Just take into consideration that your body has changed so listen to it, ask for advice if you don't know where to begin, stay committed and keep at it. You'll see, one day your jeans will fit again.
