Camila Cabello: The Early Years Of The Singer

Camila Cabello was born Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao on March 3rd, 1997 in Cojimar, Eastern Havana, Cuba. She was born to parents, Sinuhe Estrabao and Alejandro Cabello. Camila is Cuban-Mexican, with her father, Alejandro Cabello, hailing from Mexico City and her mother from Cuba. Cabello and her family moved back and forth between Havana and Mexico City for most of her early life, before relocating to Miami, Florida in the United States at the age of five. Cabello attended High School in Miami at Miami Palmetto but left in the 2012–13 school year, while Cabello was in 9th grade, to pursue her singing career, although Cabello has received her high school diploma since.

Camila Cabello: Her Rise To Stardom With Fifth Harmony

Cabello rose to fame as a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony, who came in third place on the second season of The X Factor in 2012. Thereafter, the girl group was signed to a joint record deal with Syco Music and Epic Records and released one EP and two studio albums. Cabello auditioned for The X Factor in Greensboro, North Carolina. Cabello auditioned with Aretha Franklin's "Respect", however, her audition was not aired because the TV show did not get the rights for the song. After elimination during the "bootcamp" portion of the process in Miami, Florida, Cabello was called back to the stage along with Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Lauren Jauregui, and Dinah Jane to form the girl group that would later become known as Fifth Harmony. After finishing in third place on the show, Fifth Harmony signed a joint deal with Syco Music, owned by Simon Cowell, and Epic Records, L.A. Reid's record label.

Fifth Harmony released the EP Better Together in 2013 along with the studio albums Reflection in 2015 and 7/27 in 2016, which generated singles such as "Worth It" and "Work from Home." Fifth Harmony announced Cabello's departure on December 18, 2016, with both Cabello and the group explaining different circumstances of the exit. Writing about Cabello and her time with Fifth Harmony, a Billboard journalist noted it is "rather uncommon for someone to stand out in a collective as much as Cabello has over the past years," also mentioning how her activity on Instagram, social media and close interaction with her audience helped her potential as a breakout star.

Camila Cabello: The Solo Singer & Artist

Camilla Cabello collaborated with Canadian singer Shawn Mendes on a duet titled "I Know What You Did Last Summer", a song they wrote together in 2015. The single charted at number 20 in the United States and 18 in Canada, and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. American rapper Machine Gun Kelly released a joint single with Cabello called Bad Things in October of 2016, Bad Things reached a peak of number four on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Cabello: The Success Of Havana & Her Debut Album

In May 2017, Cabello announced the future release of her first studio album, the first single for the album that would eventually be titled Camila was titled Crying In The Club. Crying In The Club received decent reviews and success, but it was with her second single, Havana, that massive success started to come to fruition. New writing and recording sessions for her album were influenced by the success of her single Havana, which postponed its original release date. After 7 weeks on top of Billboard's Mainstream Top 40, on January 8th, 2018, Cabello with Havana became the longest reigning single in the number 1 position for a female artist in a lead role since Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble" which set its own record five years prior, in 2013. This is a massive achievement and a great way to start the new year. Cabella released her debut album, titled Camilla on January 12, 2018 to unprecedented success. Only hours after the release, Cabello topped the iTunes Top 100 in over 90 countries and broke the record for most number ones on iTunes for a debut album. Fans all over social media have been losing their minds and she is the top trending artist as I write this. There are fans already calling for her to work with some of the best music producers and songwriters in the industry, including El-P and The Bellweather, there have been many remixes already done of Havana which is also topping the charts all around the world.

Cabello: Her Instragram, Net Worth and Other Fast Facts

Camila Cabello has already amassed a net worth of $6 million dollars. That will seem like spare change a year from now, as her net worth will easily grow ten times that. Camila is on a rise to fame that can be described as Taylor Swift, Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez all at the same time. Cabello will have a net worth that is easily be in 9 figures, possibly 100 X the $6 million that her net worth is already at, with Cabello only being 20 years old. Recently announced as the face of Guess for their new campaign and announced as one of the most influential people in the world, it is completely up to Cabello about what to do with her life. Her work as a philanthropist already shows what a greta person that Cabello is. This is unprecedented success, it will be interesting to see what happens. At 20 years old, Cabello has already set herself up for the future and her Album was literally released hours before I wrote this. It is exciting for a girl who dropped out of High School at 14 to be the biggest star in the world right now. Social Media, including Instagram and Twitter, are absolutely exploding. This is just the very beginning for a girl with very modest beginnings and she deserves all the success in the world. Cabello and her music, along with her videos, crosses over into many other countries, considering that Cabello is Cuban, Mexican and American, it makes perfect sense. This is exciting for all of her loyal fans and I am sure for all of the Producers, Songwriters & Artists that have worked with her, it is safe to say that everyone wants to work with Cabello right now, including myself. Congratulations Camila Cabello!
